The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a tornado warning for some areas of Southeast Queensland after 7cm hail stones fell earlier this afternoon.
Very dangerous thunderstorms north of Kilkivan are bringing large hail and destructive winds with tornado to the east coast.
Tennis ball-sized hail has been reported and a tornado has been reported southwest Tansey and northwest of Murgon.
There has also been wide-spread vegetation damage in affected areas.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should move your car under cover or away from trees; secure loose outdoor items; seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees; avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm and avoid fallen trees and telephone lines.
