Going for walks and playing in parks with your dog is one of the greatest joys of life. It can be hard to find a place where your fur baby can run free, especially now that many people are living in properties without yards.
Coming up to the Victorian State Election, Labor has promised 15 new off-leash dog parks around town. Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announced a park in Prahran on Wednesday, with more to come in other council areas, including Moonee Valley, Stonnington and Wyndham.
Minister for the Environment Lily D’Ambrosio said, “Dogs aren’t just pets, they’re like family members, and only Labor will make sure people have somewhere they can enjoy getting outdoors and letting their dog off-leash safely with 15 new dog parks across Melbourne.”
Recently, Labor also introduced the right to own a pet in rental reform laws and banned puppy farms.
The state election is set to be held on Saturday 24th of November.
