Lake Mac's Big Weekend Is Going To Be BIG! Marmong Point Marina

12 events over two days are expected to attract around 40,000 people to the shores of northern Lake Macquarie for the Lake Mac Big Weekend.

Among this year's highlights are the Offshore Superboats, jet ski races, an aerobatic display by Matt Hall and even a food and wine festival.

Superboats organiser Conn Saloumidis says there'll be a number of vantage points to catch all the racing.

"Anywhere on the foreshore walk between Warners Bay and Speers Point all the way along there, down through Eleebana... everywhere you go is going to be just fantastic," he said.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald is pleased the event will be back bigger and better.

“It's anticipated to attract more than 1,100 overnight visitors and inject almost $551,000 into the local economy. The Offshore Superboats will be broadcast nationally on SBS and distributed internationally to New Zealand, China and United Arab Emirates.”

“The Lake Mac Big Weekend will also offer artisan markets, music performances and a food and wine festival, providing the perfect opportunity for visitors to soak up the exciting event atmosphere," said MacDonald.

The event is expected to generate more than $10 million in direct and flow-on revenue for businesses in Lake Macquarie.
