You all freaked out over pineapple on pizza, for some reason unbeknownst to myself, but here’s something that actually makes sense to lose your mind over:
People are cooking watermelon like ham…
New York City Restaurant Ducks Eatery has added a vegan item to its menu, called ‘Watermelon ham’.
It’s not watermelon flavoured vegan ham, or ham flavoured watermelon, it’s literally a watermelon cooked like a smoked/baked leg of ham.
The restaurant’s chef smokes the watermelon for a long eight hours, before it’s then marinated in salt, ash, and spices for four days.
The watermelon serves three to five people and costs $75… which, let’s face it, we can’t see us spending our money on.
I just can’t understand why this is a thing… pineapple on pizza, I get.
Smoked watermelon? Yeah, nah…
Unless it’s as good as grilled pineapple… then count me in!
