Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom arrives in cinemas on June 21st and fans of the franchise are gearing up for what is without a doubt one of its most exciting films yet.

The new film sees ex-power couple Owen and Claire return to the ‘fallen’ Jurassic World theme park. Their mission is clear: rescue a bunch of dinosaurs on the brink of a second extinction. In the words of Chris Pratt’s famed character, “What could possibly go wrong?”

After realising they have been pawns in an underground plot, the pair find themselves facing a new demonic creature built for combat. It’s smart, it’s vicious and it’ll haunt me for the rest of my life.

You’ll only need to compare the Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom logos to understand the turn the franchise took. Movie-goers can expect darker themes that will send chills down your spine. That famous kitchen scene in Jurassic Park has nothing on this.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the beloved cinematic series, die-hard viewers will notice subtle references to the past films, but shouldn’t expect triceratops hugs or forest frolicking. It’s one of the most dangerous and emotional adventures yet which will no doubt surprise and intrigue fans.

Steven Spielberg has returned to produce an epic film that is both thrilling and thought-provoking. As genetic and DNA research continues to progress, is a reality like the Jurassic Park/World series really far off? Could we see extinct animals come back to life?

As they say, life finds a way. Go ahead and find your way to a cinema. Just don’t leave once the credits start to roll, wait until the very end. We promise it will be worth it.
