We’re living in an age where reboots have almost become the norm…
While we are LOVING the reboot of Sabrina, we’re NOT going to stand for the latest reboot that is in the works:
WHY would they try to reboot this piece of our childhood? Is nothing sacred anymore?!
Universal Pictures is set to reboot the film for a new generation, with the head of Illumination Entertainment, Chris Meledandri, revealing to Variety that he has been tasked with rebooting the franchise.
Chris explained that he’s eager to get this going and that while he will be ‘rebooting’ the films, he’d love to keep the voice talent of the OG films.
“When you look back on those vocal performances they’re awesome, and while you certainly could make a case for a complete reinvention, I find myself responding to my own nostalgic feelings of wanting to go back to those characterisations.”
However, even if he does retain the original voice actors, he made it clear that a clear break from the original franchise needs to be made so it can be reinvented.
“You want to find something in the narrative that really feels like a departure.”
Puss In Boots will also be getting a reboot.
Is this the worst thing since the whole ‘Shrek is love, Shrek is life’ video?
No. Definitely not.
Nothing is worse than that.
