Some of us refuse to buy anything Apple, because we don’t wanna be mainstream and love phones that catch fire, but the rest of us are suckers for anything Apple decides to release.
If you’re in the second category of people, then you’re in for a treat, because Apple has just unveiled THREE new iPhones and a new Apple Watch for us to break our bank on.
The new iPhones are all new models of the X:
- iPhone XS: starts at $1,629 - same size as the X, but comes with a 60 percent greater dynamic range. Cased in surgical grade stainless steel. Improved water and dust protection (this time it’s IP68, which means if you drop your phone in water that’s 2m deep, it will be okay for 30 seconds). Available in gold, silver, and space grey, and in normal storage shed, plus a new massive 512GB. Includes 3D Touch feature, with wider stereo sound and faster Face ID functioning. Supports two sims with Dual Sim Dual Standby system. Battery lasts 30 minutes longer than the X.
- iPhone XS Max: starts at $1,799 - comes with a 6.5-inch OLED display, instead of 5.8. It’s the biggest iPhone yet! Also comes cased in surgical grade stainless steel. IP68 water and dust protection. Available in gold, silver, and space grey, and in normal storage shed, plus a new massive 512GB. Includes 3D Touch feature, with wider stereo sound and faster Face ID functioning. Supports two sims with Dual Sim Dual Standby system. Battery lasts one and a half hours longer than the X.
- iPhone XR: starts at $1,299 budget version of the X, with more colour options. (Black, white, blue, coral, yellow, red). Aluminium casing. Comes with an LED screen instead of OLED.
There will also be a new Apple Watch Series 4, that’s 30 percent bigger in the face, but smaller in volume, The new speaker is 50 percent louder and has a tonne of other new features, too. This will be available from September 21, starting from $599 (the new Watch iOS 5 will drop on September 17).
The XR will be available for purchase from October 26, while the XS and XS Max will be available on September 21.
